RECALL: ‘Contaminated’ chorizo sausages pulled from Coles shelves

A popular brand of Chorizo Sausage has been recalled because of E.coli contamination.

“Hans Continental Smallgoods Pty Ltd is conducting a recall of Hans Spanish Chorizo 250g due to microbial  (E. coli) contamination,” a recall notice posted on the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand website reads.

“Food products contaminated with (E. coli) may cause illness if consumed.”

The affected chorizo sausages have an expiration date of 1 December 2017 and have been available for sale at Coles stores in Qld and NSW.

Customers have been warned not to eat the product, and to instead return it to Coles for an immediate refund.
