Recall issued over fears of glass in popular cheese platter food

An urgent recall has been issued for jars of red cocktail onions over fears they may contain glass.

The Trustee for The Sabrands Australia Mgmt Trust issued the recall of Rosella Red Cocktail Onions 150g in a notice posted on the Food Standards Australia website.

“The recall is due to the potential presence of foreign matter (glass),” the recall notice reads.

“Food products containing glass may cause illness/injury if consumed.”

The cocktail onions have been available for sale at independent food retailers including IGA in NSW, Woolworths in NSW & Qld and Coles nationally.

The affected jars have a Best Before date of 05/11/2022.

Shoppers are being warned not to eat the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
