RECALL | Plush toy gifted by shopping centre Santas poses a ‘choking hazard’

Santa has put himself on the ‘naughty list’ this Christmas, amid a recall on the plush reindeer (pictured below) he handed out at shopping centres across the country.

If you took your kids for a photo with Santa at any Stockland shopping centres, they would have received the small, stuffed toy.

Approximately 36,000 were given away Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales between November 10 and December 14.

On the Gold Coast, Stockland owns centres in Burleigh Heads, Benowa and Pacific Pines. But, the toy was also given away by Santa at Pacific Fair.

According to Product Safety Australia, the reindeer’s plastic nose may detach and pose a ‘choking hazard for infants and young children’.

The authority urges parents to “dispose of the reindeer immediately”.
