RECALL: Popular almond milk “could cause illness if consumed”

An urgent recall has been issued for another two popular brands of almond milk sold at supermarkets and used in coffee shops across the country.

MILKLAB Almond Milk and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Almond Milk has been pulled from sale due to potential microbial contamination.

The MILKLAB Almond Milk 1L has been available for sale nationally in various coffee shops and food service outlets.

The affected cartons have best before dates of 18/06/21, 01/07/21, 20/07/21, 29/07/21 and 06/08/21.

The Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Almond Milk 1L has been available for sale in Coles and Woolworths stores in Qld, NSW, SA, VIC and WA and has a best before date of 27/04/21.

“Food products with microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed,” the recall notice reads.

Customers are being urged not to drink the milk and are being told to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the notice says.

It comes just days after Aldi issued a similar recall for the UHT Almond Milk Original 1L, with a best before date of 18/04/2021, due to the same issue.
