RECALL: Potentially dangerous Christmas pet toy pulled from shelves

Pet owners are being warned of a recall involving two popular Christmas dog toys.

The DGGX16 Tough Play Mighty Dumbbell Tug Rope & DGGX16 Tough Play Toss n Fetch Tug a Rope have been pulled from shelves over fears they may pose a serious choking hazard for dogs.

“In some circumstances the join area where the rope connects are coming unglued leaving the clear plastic over the cap loose. If the defect occurs whilst in use this may be a choking hazard for a dog,” a statement posted on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission reads.

The recalled toys were sold at PETstock stores nationally between 31 October – 29 November 2016.

Owners have been urged to remove the toy from their pets immediately and to return it to their nearest PETstock for a full refund.
