Reeva Steenkamp’s mother has “no feelings of revenge” towards Pistorius

AS former South African paralympian Oscar Pistorius settles in to his new home, the mother of his slain girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, has opened up about her daughter’s killing.

During a visit to Reeva’s old highschool in Port Elizabeth, June Steenkamp vowed to “carry on where (Reeva) left off”.

She read from a speech the model was due to give on the day she was killed, February 14, 2013.

Pistorius has served one year behind bars after being found guilty of shooting dead Ms Steenkamp in the bathroom of his home. The ‘Blade Runner’ claims he thought she was a robber.

He was released this week and is now under house arrest in his uncle’s mansion.

But, June Steenkamp told students she has “no feelings of revenge” towards Pistorius.

“I don’t want to hurt him, he is already a disabled person. I did not want him to be thrown into jail and suffering because I don’t wish suffering on anyone and that’s not going to bring Reeva back.”
