Registered sex offender re-arrested after trying to pursue child for sex

A registered sex offender has been arrested after allegedly pursuing a child for sexual acts in South Australia.

The 28-year-old man was arrested in Adelaide by detectives from the ANCOR investigations section of the South Australia Police Special Crimes Investigation Branch.

The arrest came after South Australia Police received a tip off from their colleagues in Victoria.

It’s alleged the man had attempted to communicate with a child online. Police said the child lives in Victoria.

The man has since been charged with one count of communicating with a child with the intent of making the child amenable to sexual activity and two counts of failing to comply with child sex offender reporting obligations.

He was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
