REPORT | Asylum seeker behind bank inferno in Melbourne had money worries

The asylum seeker who set himself on fire inside a Melbourne Bank, had reportedly been going to financial institutions asking for money for weeks before Friday’s tragedy.

News Corp reports Nur Islam had refused offers from Centrelink for assistance, because the line was too long.

The Myanmar national had been sleeping on a friend’s floor, after falling behind with his rent payments.
