Honduras have come into World Cup contention after beating Mexico 3-2 this morning.
The Socceroos will travel to Honduras in early November, before concluding the two-legged play-off on home soil on November 14.

The dramatic nature of World Cup qualifiers was in full swing today with USA slipping from automatic qualification to out of contention.

Report: Postecoglou plans to quit Socceroos
Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou will reportedly leave his coaching post in November, even if Australia qualifies for the World Cup.
The Herald Sun says Postecoglou will quit due to relentless attacks from critics.

The news comes after Australia qualified last night for the next round of World Cup playoffs.
The Socceroos will play a team from North or South America in November and if they win they will qualify for the World Cup next year in Russia.
The paper quotes sources close to the coach as saying he’ll leave after the next World Cup playoff.
His departure would leave a highly coveted coaching spot up for grabs.
