Reporter Ben McCormack negotiating with DPP on child porn charges

Nine Network reporter Ben McCormack has once again found himself on the other side of the fence, after being mobbed by fellow journalists outside a Sydney court.

The 43-year-old suspended A Current Affair staffer was back in front of a magistrate on Tuesday in relation to child pornography charges.

McCormack, who was suspended from the network after his arrest in April, was granted more time to negotiate with prosecutors.

His lawyer, Sam Macedone, asked for the matter to be delayed another three weeks.

He said after that time a plea “will be entered” on two counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child porn.

The case is set to return to court on September 26.
