Reports of shots fired during assault on Oxenford street

A man has been bashed by two men on a northern Gold Coast street with nearby residents saying they heard shots being fired.

Police swarmed Drama St in Oxenford just after 6pm, cordoning off the area while the Police helicopter was also called in.

The victim had suffered facial injuries in the attack.

Neighbours reported hearing at least one gunshot but Police have been unable to confirm this and are still investigating.

The man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

His injuries are not as a result of being shot.

Streets around the scene remained closed for several hours while Police searched for the two men.
