Residents injured in Gold Coast house fire

THREE people have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a home on the Gold Coast this morning.

The blaze erupted at a house on Cobb and Co Drive in Oxenford just before 6.20am.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed two crews were called to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames by about 7.40am.


It’s understood the fire started in the garage, however the cause is unknown.

A man in his 80s was treated at the scene by paramedics for burns to his lower legs and feet. He has since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

A man in his 50s and woman in her 40s were also transported to hospital for smoke inhalation.
