REVEALED: What Australians Googled the most in 2016

It appears Australians took an interest in the US election more than anything else this year, with Google’s ‘Year in Search’ revealing it was the most searched topic of 2016.

The Olympics came in as the second most trending topic of the year, followed by the Census, Euro 2016 and The Australian Open.

The most ‘Googled’ Australian was NRL Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce followed by Molly Meldrum and Tara Brown.

Sonia Kruger, Malcolm Turnbull and Pauline Hanson also made it into the top 10 most Googled Australians in 2016.
