REVEALED: Australia’s ‘shonkiest’ products for 2016 named and shamed
Australia’s shonkiest products for 2016 have been revealed in the 11th annual CHOICE Shonky Awards.
Nine products and companies were named and shamed this year for reasons ranging from sneaky surcharges, dodgy diet advice and exploding mobile phones.
Consumer group Choice say they hold the shonky awards every year to oust the shonkiest products and companies taking advantage of Australian consumers.
“Every year CHOICE hands out Shonky Awards to manufacturers, service providers, and especially marketers and advertisers. They win the title of Shonky for misleading claims, false advertising, lack of transparency, faulty goods and/or poor service,” a description of the Shonky awards reads.
