DRIVERS are being urged to be extra careful on the road from today, with March revealed as the most high-risk month for vehicle crashes in Queensland.
RACQ spokesperson Kirsty Clinton said insurance data showed more than 6,400 crashes had occurred during the months of March since 2015.
“While March is the month with the highest rate of crashes, May and February are close behind,” Ms Clinton said.

“Our data also shows December is the month when you’re least likely to have a crash.”
Ms Clinton said that with plenty of people due to head away over the upcoming Easter long weekend and school holidays, the next few weeks will be extremely busy on our roads.
She said Friday was the most dangerous day of the week for crashes and 3-4pm was the most at-risk time of the day.
“This could be because it’s the time a lot of people are heading away for the weekend or because we’re all a little stressed from a big week,” she said.
