REVEALED: The Netflix shows we binged the most in 2020
It’s fair to say we’ve never watched TV more than we did this year during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now Netflix has revealed the shows and movies we binged the most in 2020.
Aussie heart throb Chris Hemsworth once again stole the show, with his film Extraction named the streaming platform’s number one action movie of the year, while Karate Kid spinoff Cobra Kai was dubbed the top action series.
When it comes to Comedy, it appears Aussies couldn’t get enough of Emily in Paris, which took out the top spot for Netflix’s most-watched comedy series.
While recently released festive flick Holidate starring Emma Roberts and Australian actor Luke Bracey was the most popular comedy movie.
There’ no surprise Tiger King topped the documentary category, with the spine-tingling doco-film American Murder: The Family Next Door also keeping us glued to our screens, while the saucy Too Hot To Handle was the most watched reality program.
The most popular documentaries prove Aussies love getting lost in a good true crime: #AmericanMurder: The Family Next Door, and #TigerKing: Murder, Mayhem and Madness kept everyone guessing — as did #UnsolvedMysteries if you’re looking for more clues to solve. pic.twitter.com/LsAV2EmGmi

In the drama category, The Queen’s Gambit was the most popular series in Australia in 2020, while Enola Holmes was named the most-watched drama movie.
Horror fans got their kick out The Haunting of Bly Manor and It Chapter Two, while The Sinner: Jamie and Spenser Confidential took out the thriller category.
In the romance stakes, Dash & Lily tugged on the heart strings and was crowned the most popular series, while The Kissing Booth 2 starring former real-life lovers Joey King and Jacob Elordi was the most watched rom-com movie of the year.
In the comedy department, funny women are where it’s at for Australians. While #Holidate and #EmilyinParis provided the most laughs, if you’re looking for other popular comedy series you can’t go wrong with #DeadToMe or #NeverHaveIEver. pic.twitter.com/VeRJzvcDtx
