Ricki-Lee Coulter’s cousin faces court charged with Gold Coast man’s murder

A New Zealand man, whose also reportedly the cousin of pop star Ricki-Lee Coulter, intends to plead not guilty to murdering Gold Coast father-of-two, Greg Dufty.

Aaron John Crawford, 27, is one of the co-accused in the murder case of Greg Dufty, along with one-time Gold Coast bikie Lionel Patea, who is also charged with the bashing murder of his former partner Tara Brown.

Mr Crawford was flown into Queensland under police guard on Tuesday ahead of his court appearance in Brisbane this morning.

He faces charges of murder and misconduct with a corpse by interfering.

The matter was adjourned until next Wednesday, where it will be listed for mention at Southport Magistrates Court – the same day Mr Patea’s case will be heard.

Outside court, his lawyer Chris Nyst said his client would defend the charges.

When asked how Mr Crawford was feeling, Mr Nyst said: “He’s fine. He’s holding up fine.”

Mr Nyst said he had received details of some of the police allegations against Mr Crawford but was waiting for further information.

27-year-old Dufty hasn’t been seen since July 6, after he was spotted getting into a Mack Truck with an associate in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

His body has never been recovered.

Investigations continue.
