UPDATE 4:10PM | A man has been killed in a horror crash on the Gold Coast this afternoon.
The man died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car on Mt Nathan Road in Nerang just before 1pm.
Police said the man was 46-years-old. He was from Waterford.

No one else was injured in the crash.
Mount Nathan Road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the collision.
Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police have been urged to come forward.
EARLIER: Emergency services are on scene of a serious traffic crash on the Gold Coast.
It’s understood a car collided with a motorcycle along Mt Nathan Road, at the back of Nerang, at around 1pm.
It’s understood the crash occurred near Potoroo Drive.
The motorcycle rider has reportedly suffered extensive life-threatening injuries.
He is being treated by paramedics at the scene.
It is not clear whether anyone else has been injured.
The road has been closed and traffic diversions are in place.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area with lengthy delays expected.
