Road ragers clash inside police station

POLICE were forced to separate two enraged drivers who started spraying each other with abuse inside the Southport Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

It’s believed three men had been involved in a road rage incident on nearby Welch Street in Southport shortly before 3pm.

Witnesses phoned police after seeing two men get out of a van, stop traffic, and attempt to assault a man driving a ute.

As officers were dispatched, the two parties left the scene and attended the Southport Police Station where a shouting match erupted between the two at the front counter.

Police stepped in and separate the men who are now assisting police with their enquiries.

It’s thought a minor traffic collision may have sparked the dispute.
