Robber takes entire till in one of two armed robberies

A man is on the run after robbing two take-away stores just north of the Gold Coast.

Police say he used a spray can to threaten a worker at a snack bar in Waterford, west of Beenleigh, around 5am on Monday.

He demanded money before grabbing the entire cash register and ripping it from the counter.

He ran out of the Harburg Street store and was seen to get into the passenger seat of a silver coloured 4WD vehicle.

Just 15-minutes later, it’s believed the same man targeted a Nerang Street takeaway shop, armed with a baseball bat.

The store employee handed over money from the till and the man again ran to a silver coloured 4WD before driving off.

No one was physically injured during the robberies.

The offender in each incident is described as being of Pacific Islander appearance with a proportionate build, olive complexion and was wearing a wearing an unknown brand black jacket, full head covering and fingerless gloves.
