Roof-topping craze takes Gold Coast by storm

TERRIFYING photos have emerged online of young men risking their lives while dangling from the top Gold Coast high-rises.

One of the images shows a young man dangling from a railing at the top of a building at least 50 storeys high.

The dangerous international craze, known as “roof-topping” has taken the Gold Coast by storm and police are outraged.

Nine News journalist Carrie Greenbank said officers were aware of a number of incidents where young men would bust open fire doors, run up stair wells and climb right to the pinnacle of the building where they take photos of themselves either sitting or walking on the edge of the roof or dangling from railings.

She said the dare devils are known to specifically target the Q1, Hilton and the Soul buildings.
