Roosters star pleads not guilty to assaulting ex-partner

NRL star Shaun Kenny-Dowall has pleaded not guilty to several assault charges relating to alleged domestic violence.

The Roosters player appeared in Waverley Local Court this morning charged with 10 offences over the assault and stalking of his former partner Jessica Peris.

Kenny-Dowall and Peris, who is the daughter of former Olympic gold medal winner turned Labor senator Nova Peris, were in a de facto relationship for more than two years.

The 27-year-old failed to attend his first court matter as he had been admitted to a Sydney hospital.

Kenny-Dowall didn’t say anything as he left the court, with his matter due back at Waverley Local Court for mention on September 17.
