The Gold Coast looks set to welcome a royal couple for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The Courier Mail reports Prince Charles and his wife Camilla are coming to the sunshine state to officially open the big event in April after they were formally invited by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk back in March.
It’s expected the couple will combine the official visit with a small holiday in Queensland, including a visit to the Great Barrier Reef.

It’s not the first time the royal pair have visited Queensland, with both attending a serious of outback engagement in 2012.
Prince Edward is also reportedly a chance to make the trip down under while the Queen will confirm whether she will attend by October.
