IT’S BEEN confirmed……The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and their nine-month-old baby George, will visit Queensland in April.
William and Kate will visit Amberley and Brisbane on Saturday 19 April (Easter Saturday) as part of their tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Premier Campbell Newman said The Duke and Duchess would be welcomed at the RAAF Base at Amberley where they would be guests of the Royal Australian Air Force. The visit to RAAF Base Amberley reflects The Duke’s strong support of the men and women of Australia’s Defence Force.

“Their Royal Highnesses would then attend a reception, which the Governor and I will co-host at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This function will provide Queenslanders an opportunity to see Their Royal Highnesses as they arrive and depart the function,” Mr Newman said.
“This will be The Duke of Cambridge’s second official visit to Queensland and The Duchess of Cambridge’s first visit.
“We’ve certainly been honoured to welcome a number of Royal visitors over the past three years. Queensland welcomed Prince William to Townsville, Cardwell, Tully, Cairns, Ipswich, Grantham, Toowoomba and Brisbane following the 2010-11 floods and Cyclone Yasi during a three-day visit in March 2011, Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to Brisbane in October 2011 and The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall to Longreach in November 2012.
“I look forward to the visit of Their Royal Highnesses to the State and I’m sure many Queenslanders will be very excited to welcome the couple.
“Together with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Kensington Palace, my department is working on details of the visit which will be released in due course.”
