Russian woman charged over Sydney cruise ship brawl

A Russian woman has been charged after allegedly glassing a man during a violent brawl on a cruise ship off Sydney on Sunday.

Police allege the 37-year-old woman struck a 21-year-old man with an empty wine bottle, causing a cut to his head, during a fight between several men, including her husband, about 1.00am.

The clash apparently stemmed from an argument about a queue for the toilets.

Security separated the men and they were detained. The man with the injury was treated by medical personnel on board.

Yesterday afternoon, six men, including the injured man, and the woman, were removed from the ship at Bradley’s Head.

The men were subsequently released without charge pending further inquiries, while the woman was taken to Newtown Police Station.

She was charged her with reckless wounding and affray and was granted conditional bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 9 March.
