SA man placed in induced coma after savage assault

A man has been placed in an induced coma after being savagely attacked at a house in South Australia’s far south-east.

Police said the man was brutally assaulted at a house on Wehl Street in Mount Gambier just before 11pm on Wednesday night.

Paramedics arrived and found the man with extensive head injuries.


He was treated by paramedics and stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to the Flinder Medical Centre in a critical condition.

He has since been placed in an induced coma.

As investigations get under way, police said the assault was not considered a random attack.
