SA woman allegedly scammed $25,000 from elderly man

DETECTIVES from the Major Fraud Investigation unit in Adelaide have arrested a woman following a protracted investigation into an alleged online romance scam.

It will be alleged that, between November 2015 and April this year, the woman scammed an elderly man of $25,000 which police had been forward overseas via multiple international bank transfers.

The 57-year-old Clearview woman was arrested on Thursday.

She has since been charged with 17 counts of aggravated deception and was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 29 August.
