Sacked NRL player released from New York prison after father pays $69K bond

Troubled NRL player Matthew Lodge has been released on bail in New York following his violent rampage in the city last Friday.

The 20-year-old was released from Rikers Island correctional facility on Tuesday, after his father allegedly paid a $US50,000 ($69,015) bond.

Lodge was originally charged with intimidation and assault after he allegedly followed two women home and told them ‘this is the night that you die’ before assaulting a man who came to the women’s aid and damaging an apartment.
