Sadistic dog haters scatter sharp thumbtacks around SE Qld dog park

The hunt is on for the sadistic person/s responsible for scattering dog food laced with hundreds of thumbtacks, around an off-leash dog park in South East Queensland.

The tacks, which were hidden in the dog food, were found at Augustine Heights Dog Park in Ipswich by a member of the public on the weekend.

Acting Ipswich Mayor Paul Tully told the Queensland Times that the sickening act of vandalism was “absolutely disgraceful”.

“Resorting to this sort of tactic against defenceless animals would be abhorrent to every decent person in Australia,” Tully told the paper.

It’s understood more than 200 tacks have since been recovered from the park.

A $5000 reward has been put up by the Ipswich City Council to catch those responsible.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
