A MAN in his 40s has been charged with detaining and indecently assaulting a young door-to-door saleswoman at his house on the NSW Central Coast.

The 47-year-old man is accused of dragging the 18-year-old sales rep into his Sabrina Avenue home at Bateau Bay on Wednesday afternoon after she knocked on his front door.

It was then when the man allegedly grabbed the woman and dragged her inside his house where it’s further alleged he indecently assaulted her and refused to let her go.

After a violent struggle, police said the woman managed to escape and flee the house before calling triple zero.

Officers attended the home shortly before midday on Thursday and arrested the 47-year-old man.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was questioned and later charged with detaining a person with intent to obtain an advantage, assault with an act of indecency, intimidation and command assault.

He was refused bail and will appear in Wyong Local Court on Friday.
