Samuel Johnson has been named the 2018 Victorian Australian of the Year for raising millions of dollars for cancer research.
The Gold-Logie winner and passionate cancer research advocate was presented with the honour at a special ceremony at Government House in Melbourne overnight.
It comes after Johnson lost his beloved sister Connie to the disease last month.

“Connie and I always liked turning negatives into positives,” an emotional Johnson said after accepting his award.
“I’ve got some plans that I’m working on and I’m trying to uphold my sister’s legacy.”
Professor Paul Zimmet was named Victorian Senior Australian of the Year whilst 17-year-old Georgie Stone was named Victorian Young Australian of the Year and Mat Bowtell was named Victorian Local Hero.
The national awards ceremony will be held in Canberra on January 25.
