“I am so honoured, however I think I am somewhat undeserving as there are so many amazing nurses out there. It is amazing to get recognised for a job well done I suppose, but I love my job so it is effortless to me.”
Sarah said working with very sick children can be emotionally challenging, but her team are all very supportive of one another. “It’s not always a happy place to be. But I think critical care often fosters a very cohesive team spirit and we are very good at supporting each other through tough times. We also pride ourselves on trying to make it as best for families as we can.”
Along with a certificate, Sarah wins $250 and is now a finalist in the Annual Award where she will share in cash and prizes of over $5,000.
