Saudi Arabian man accused of raping 24-year-old woman five times in 24 hours

A MAN from Saudi Arabia has been arrested and charged over the alleged repeated rape of a 24-year-old woman in NSW.

The 29-year-old Saudi Arabian national is accused of raping the woman at least five times at an address in Newcastle in 2016.

The alleged rapes are said to have taken place back-to-back over the coarse of several hours on Friday, May 13.


Police said detectives from Newcastle were only made aware of the allegations in May last year.

Following a protracted investigation, the 29-year-old was arrested at an address in Richmond, Victoria, on Tuesday.

He was extradited to Newcastle and has since been charged with five counts of sexual intercourse without consent and two of attempt sexual intercourse without consent.

The Saudi Arabian national was remanded in custody ahead of his next court date.
