Commonwealth Bank customers are being warned not to fall for a convincing email scam currently doing the rounds.
The bank issued the urgent warning on Wednesday, alerting people to the fake email titled “Your Account Banking has been disabled”.
“We are aware that some of our customers have received this email asking them to verify their account,” Comm Bank said in a statement posted to social media.

“This is a hoax.”
In the email, the heartless scammers ask customers to click on a link to a fake Commonwealth Bank website in a bid to steal their account information.
The bank said anyone who has received the email should delete it immediately.
“If you have clicked the link and provided your details, please call our customer service team on 132221 to secure your account,” Comm Bank said.
