School children airlifted to hospital after being hit by car in Qld

Two children have been airlifted to hospital in a serious, but stable condition after being hit by a car in Queensland’s Darling Downs.

The youngsters, a boy and girl, were struck at the intersection of Yandilla and Murray Streets at Pittsworth just before 8.30am.

According to The Chronicle, they were on their way to school.


The pair were treated at the scene by paramedics for head and suspected spinal injuries.

They have since been airlifted to Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Hospital by the rescue chopper.

Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
