Scorching temperatures to hit the Coast

Gold Coasters are being told to brace for a sweltering hot week, with temperatures expected to reach 36 degrees.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a hot and mostly sunny few days from tomorrow.

Nerang and Coomera could see temperatures as high as 36 degrees on Thursday and Saturday, with the rest of the coast expecting a top of 35.

People are advised to stay out of the sun if they can, and to drink lots of water.

A cool change is expected to roll through from Sunday with a shower or two expected on both Sunday and Monday.
