Sea World waving goodbye to a crowd favourite

SOME big news coming out of a Gold Coast theme park on Friday.

Sea World’s Henry the polar bear is set to take part in a breeding program.

Marine Scientist Trevor Long said Henry is moving to Canada.

He will be linked up with a female when he arrives and will contribute to the captive breeding population in Canada.

There are 19 different polar bear populations and many are diminishing.

Trevor said Henry has a massive following of admirers at Sea World, so fans can see him until October six.

Then he will head off on his overseas trip and will probably never return.

But the good news is that Leah is at Sea World and is ready to start producing offspring so there will be more baby polar bears on the way.
