Search continues for man believed missing in Central West

The search for a man, who is believed to have been missing in the Canobolas State Forest for more than a week, has resumed today.

Steven Groat, 54, was last seen about 12pm on Saturday 19 December 2015, when he left a friend’s house in Orange.

Family members contacted police on Wednesday 23 December, concerned about his disappearance and lack of contact, claiming it was out of character.

They also had concerns he may be without medication.

The next day, Mr Groat’s car was found in the Canobolas State Forest, and a search of the area was initiated by local police, SES volunteers and family members.

Steven is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion, brown hair and green/hazel eyes.

Officers attached to Canobolas Local Area Command are again appealing for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers.
