THE Gold Coast will soon have a new restaurant overlooking the spectacular Broadwater Parklands.
Acting Mayor Donna Gates said the search was on for a vibrant and unconventional restaurant.
“We want something that pops and piques the city’s imagination, becoming a must do experience for locals and visitors alike,” Cr Gates said.

“We want to ensure food industry leaders nationally and internationally are aware of this opportunity to create a unique dining experience that celebrates our city.
“We’re looking to attract an experienced restaurateur to deliver a unique, high quality dining experience at the Broadwater Parklands at Southport,” she said.
Divisional Councillor Dawn Crichlow said the location was second-to-none.
“Overlooking the sparkling Broadwater and within the city’s premier park, the restaurant will sit within a purpose-built pavilion with views of the Broadwater and across to the luxury Marina Mirage Shopping Centre and the fashion-branded Palazzo Versace Hotel,” she said.
Located in the heart of the revitalised Gold Coast Central Business District in Southport, the restaurant is complemented by emerging infrastructure, including a Chinatown precinct, the light rail network and Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.
Southport is anchored by regionally significant facilities, including a magistrates’ court, community centre, library, public and private medical services, higher education, retail and professional services, in addition to being the most populated and culturally diverse area of the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter said it was a truly fantastic opportunity, in a world-class setting with inspirational views of the city skyline and pristine waters of the Broadwater.
“I am pleased the City of Gold Coast is seeking a unique restaurant because only this will match the incredible experience the facility will provide,” Mr Winter said.
The parklands is emerging as one of the city’s ‘must do’ attractions for the 11 million tourists that visit the city each year, and with international exposure during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth GamesTM, the restaurant will be perfectly placed to provide diners with a uniquely Gold Coast food experience.
The opportunity to invest in one of the Gold Coast’s key industries, hospitality, comes with assistance from the City in the form of very attractive lease arrangements.
