The Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching are hoping a new competition to find the Gold Coast’s first young whale warrior will encourage budding environmentalists, marine biologists and activists to turn their passion into action.
The Young Whale Warrior competition is open to students in Years 3 to 6 at primary schools across the Gold Coast – with kids needing to submit a drawing, video or written piece that demonstrates their love and passion for whales. The winner their family will get to spend as much time as they want on Spirit of Gold Coast this season, including a day alongside the company’s on-board marine biologist.
The competition coincides with a series of educational talks in schools by The Spirit of Gold Coast’s resident Marine Biologist Zara King, who told myGC that education is the solution to our environmental problems.
