Police from Tweed / Byron Local Area Command have been looking for Richard Daw.

The 61-year-old was last seen about 3pm on Monday at the Maccas Camp Grounds, Upper Main Arm about 13km northwest of Mullumbimby.

Relatives called Police when they couldn’t find him at his van or nearby.

Local officers and neighbouring police commands, Police Rescue (LANDSAR), SES and the Westpac Lifesaver 4 helicopter launched a search on Tuesday.

That was called off at about 6pm because there wasn’t enough light to see the rough terrain properly.

Search crews will return at 8am.

Police hold grave concerns for Mr Daw as he has not been taking his medication.

Anyone who know where he might be can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
