Search resumes for pilot killed in Qld crash

AUTHORITIES are continuing to search for the body of a pilot believed to have been killed in a light plane crash in Queensland.

A farmer found the scattered debris of Rob Pavan’s light aircraft in bushland northwest of Gympie on Monday.

The 60-year-old pilot left Gympie on Saturday morning when it’s understood he crashed at speed in to a mountain plateau about 39km into the flight.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority says they are certain he did not survive but is body is still yet to be found.

The search will continue today.
