A second Gold Coast building fire in as many days has kept emergency services busy with investigations into the possibility the two are linked after revealing a fire at a vacant Surfers Paradise apartment block overnight was lit deliberately.
Police declared both areas as suspicious and set up crime scenes with the latest fire occurring on Sunday night in an abandoned apartment complex in Surfers Paradise.
Around 8.20pm police and emergency services were called to the abandoned unit complex on The Esplanade following reports that one of the units was engulfed by fire.

In a separate Gold Coast fire incident over the weekend, a blaze engulfed the Oak building and closed off a section of the highway.
