Second person charged over death of woman following breast surgery

A second person has been charged with manslaughter after a woman died following a breast procedure at an inner city beauty salon last month.

On Wednesday 30 August, emergency services were called to a clinic on Carlton Street in Broadway following reports of a medical episode.

A woman was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.


Following investigations, officers arrested a 29-year-old woman yesterday, where she was charged with manslaughter, use poison so as to endanger life and hinder investigation serious indictable offence.

She was refused bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court today.

A 33-year-old woman has already been charged in relation to the medical procedure.
