Security guard hit in head with carton of beer during bottle shop robbery

A SECURITY guard has had a carton of beer hurled at his head during a brazen smash-and-grab at a bottle shop in Brisbane’s south-east.

Police said four men smashed a window of the Logan Road business at Holland Park shortly before 2am on Thursday and stole a stash of alcohol.

A male security guard who was patrolling nearby went to approach the group when one of the men threw a carton of beer at his head.

He suffered a deep laceration to his chin and arm and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

The four men fled the scene; last seen leaving in two vehicles, a small white hatchback and a silver hatchback.

Police are seeking information from anyone who saw the vehicles in the area at the time or has any information which may be able to assist with their enquiries to contact them.
