A senior constable has been suspended after being charged with rape following an alleged attack in regional New South Wales.
It’s alleged the off-duty officer forced himself on a person, who has not been identified, at a home in Tamworth about 3am on Monday 22 January.
The incidents were reported to officers attached to Oxley Police District three days later.

Police immediately began an investigation and on Sunday confirmed the officer has been suspended and charged with sexual intercourse without consent and assault with an act of indecency.
He has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court in April.
