Senior Constable dismissed for domestic violence

AS THE Gold Coast and all of Australia struggles to make sense of a number of devastating fatal attacks on women, a local Police Officer has been dismissed for Domestic Violence charges.

The service has confirmed, the Senior Constable from the South Eastern Region has been stood down after claims against him were ‘substantiated’.

Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski conducted disciplinary proceedings into the 41-year-old amid allegations of serious misconduct, which included committing acts of domestic violence and making abusive and threatening telephone calls.

He also was found to be accessing confidential information, and failing to treat members of the community with respect and dignity.

This week on the Gold Coast, two mothers were killed, allegedly by their former partners. On Tuesday Tara Brown was allegedly bashed to death after being run off the road in Molendinar by former bikie Lionel Patea.

Two days later, Karina Lock was fatally shot in the head in front of horrified McDonald’s customers in Helensvale, before her estranged husband Stephen Lock turned the gun on himself. He died in hospital.
