SERENA Williams has been forced to withdraw from the French Open due to injury.
The tennis star, who was making her comeback to the court after the birth of her daughter, revealed the news at a press conference on Monday.
“Unfortunately I’m having some issues with my pec muscle. Right now I can’t actually serve it’s kind of hard to play,” she said.

“I’m having an MRI tomorrow, I’m going to stay here to see the doctors and see as many specialists as I can.”
The 36-year-old was due to compete against Maria Sharapova in a highly anticipated fourth-round clash.
Williams said she won’t know when or if she will be able to return until she gets the results back from her scan.
