UPDATE @ 8.30AM | A man has sadly passed away in hospital, after a nasty crash on the M1 this morning.
Emergency services were called to the southbound lanes through Shailer Park just before 6.00am, following reports a single car had crashed into a concrete barrier.
Paramedics later reported that they’d rushed a man to hospital a critical condition, though couldn’t confirm if it was due to the crash or a medical episode.

He sadly passed away in hospital a short time later.
Police are now investigating, and are calling on any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
EARLIER @ 7.00AM | A person’s been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a car crash on the M1 this morning.
It happened in the southbound lanes through Shailer Park just before 6.00am, calling emergency services to the scene.
Paramedics have since reported that they’ve transported the patient to Logan Hospital, though it is ‘unknown definitively whether the patient’s condition was a result of the crash or a medical event’.
Two lanes were blocked off as emergency services attended the scene.
Motorists are being warned of residual delays.
EARLIER @ 6.15AM | M1 motorists are being warned to expect some delays this morning, after a serious crash.
It’s understood a car crashed into a barrier in the southbound lanes through Shailer Park.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6.00am.
They’re blocking the right hand lane at the moment, and are believed to be treating one person.
Motorists are being warned of serious delays, which were back past Slacks Creek at the time of writing.
