Serious traffic incident on M1 causing lengthy delays
Motorists are being urged to avoid the M1 after a serious traffic incident at Nerang.
The incident happened in the northbound lanes of the motorway just before 5.20am on Thursday.
The left-hand lane of the motorway is blocked near Exit 71.
Lengthy delays are already being experienced with northbound traffic queued back to Worongary at 6.15am.
Emergency services remain on scene and are expected to be there for some time.
